NPCIL Stipendiary Trainee Period of Training:

The period of training for the post of Category-II Stipendiary Trainee (ST/TN) will be 2 years.

Stipend and Pay Structure:

Category-II Stipendiary Trainee (ST/TN) – Operator & Maintainer:

1st Year: ₹20,000 per month
2nd Year: ₹22,000 per month
Book Allowance (one-time grant): ₹3,000

After successfully completing the training, trainees may be considered for appointment as Technician/B (Group-C) with a pay of ₹21,700/- in level 3 of the Revised Pay Structure (Pay Matrix) under the CCS (RP) Rules, 2016. The organization may also grant additional increments based on the trainees' performance during the program, following the current rules.

Application Fees

The application fee for NPCIL Stipendiary Trainee recruitment is as follows:

General/OBC/EWS candidates: ₹200
SC/ST/PwD/Ex-Servicemen candidates: No fee
Method of Payment: The fee can be paid online through the NPCIL recruitment portal.

Selection Process for NPCIL Stipendiary Trainee Recruitment
The NPCIL Stipendiary Trainee selection process includes a two-stage written examination.


Preliminary Test: The 1-hour exam includes 50 multiple-choice questions on Mathematics, Science, and General Awareness. General candidates must score at least 40% to pass, while reserved categories require a minimum of 30%.

Advanced Test: The 2-hour exam consists of 50 multiple-choice questions related to the specific trade. To qualify, candidates need a minimum of 30% in General and 20% in reserved categories.

For Category-II Stipendiary Trainee (Operator), no skill test is required. Qualified candidates will be invited for the Physical Standard Test and Document Verification, with three times the number of vacancies being shortlisted.

For Category-II Stipendiary Trainee (Maintainer), a Skill Test will be conducted. Up to five times the number of vacancies will be shortlisted, including candidates with equal scores. The Skill Test is qualifying, and final selection will be based on the Stage-2 exam scores.
