Combined Defence Services Examination-II, 2024: Written Exam Results Declared

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has announced the written exam results for the Combined Defence Services Examination-II (CDS-II), 2024, which was conducted on 1st September 2024. A total of 8,796 candidates have successfully qualified for the next stage, which involves an interview by the Service Selection Board (SSB) under the Ministry of Defence.

Next Steps for Qualified Candidates

The successful candidates will now proceed to the SSB interview for admission to the following institutions and courses:
  • Indian Military Academy (IMA), Dehradun: 159th (DE) Course commencing in July 2025.
  • Indian Naval Academy (INA), Ezhimala, Kerala: Course commencing in July 2025.
  • Air Force Academy (AFA), Hyderabad: (Pre-Flying) Training Course [218 F(P)] commencing in July 2025.
  • Officers Training Academy (OTA), Chennai:
    122nd SSC (Men) (Non-Technical) Course commencing in October 2025.
    36th SSC (Women) (Non-Technical) Course commencing in October 2025.

Submission of Original Certificates

All qualified candidates are required to submit their original certificates in support of their age (Date of Birth), educational qualifications, NCC (C) certificates, etc. The submission deadlines and details for each course are as follows:
  • IMA & INA: Certificates must be submitted by 1st July, 2025.
  • AFA: Certificates must be submitted by 13th May, 2025.
  • SSC (OTA): Certificates must be submitted by 1st October, 2025.
Important:Candidates must send their original certificates to the respective military headquarters (not to UPSC), as listed below:
  • Army (IMA/OTA first choice candidates): IHQ of MoD (Army), West Block III, R.K. Puram, New Delhi.
  • Navy (INA first choice candidates): IHQ of MoD (Navy) “DMPR” (OI & R Section), Sena Bhawan, New Delhi.
  • Air Force (AFA first choice candidates): Dte of Personnel (Offrs), Kasturba Gandhi Marg, New Delhi.

Online Registration for SSB Interviews

Candidates who have qualified and selected the Army (IMA/OTA) as their first choice must register on the Indian Army Recruitment Directorate website at www.joinindianarmy.nic.in to receive their SSB call-up details. Candidates who have already registered are advised not to register again.

Marks Sheet Availability

The marks sheet of the candidates will be available on the UPSC website within 15 days of the final result declaration for the OTA course, which will be published after the SSB interviews. The marks sheet will remain accessible on the website for 30 days.
