India's 2024 Railway Expansion: New Lines Across Seven States

On August 9, 2024, the Indian government approved eight new railway line projects to enhance connectivity and reduce logistics costs across seven states. These projects, worth approximately ₹24,657 crores, will add around 900 km to the existing railway network and cover 14 districts.

- Junagarh-Nabrangpur (Odisha) - 116.21 km.
- Badampahar-Kandujhargarh (Odisha) - 82.06 km.
- Bangriposi-Gorumahisani (Odisha) - 85.60 km.
- Malkangiri-Pandurangapuram via Bhadrachalam (Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana) - 173.61 km.
- Buramara-Chakulia (Jharkhand, West Bengal, Odisha) - 59.96 km.
- Jalna-Jalgaon (Maharashtra) - 174 km.
- Bikramshila-Katareah (Bihar) - 26.23 km.
