Scholarship Details

The NMMSS aims to reduce the dropout rate after Class VIII and encourage students to continue their education up to Class XII. Each year, one lakh fresh scholarships are awarded to Class IX students who pass the qualifying exam conducted by their respective State/UT governments. Students receive Rs. 12,000 per annum throughout Classes IX to XII, based on academic performance.

Application Process and Verification

Students must submit their applications through the NSP. The process includes two levels of verification:
  • Level 1 (L1): Verified by the Institute Nodal Officer (INO), with a deadline of October 15, 2024.
  • Level 2 (L2): Verified by the District Nodal Officer (DNO), with a deadline of October 31, 2024.
As of August 31, 2024, 60,321 fresh applications and 121,834 renewal applications have been submitted. Scholarships are disbursed directly into the students' bank accounts via electronic transfer through the Public Financial Management System (PFMS) using Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) mode.
